SBA Quality Control Specialist

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between Closing Specialists and Team Lead to ensure loans are closed in a timely manner
  • Performs pre-close and post-close review of loan closing files to ensure compliance with the SBA's SOP and internal Credit and Closing policies
  • Communicates pre-close action items to the appropriate Closing Specialist
  • Works with Closing Specialists to clear pre-close action items prior to Team Lead's final review
  • Works with Closing Specialists for continued process improvement
  • Communicates document deficiencies to Closing Manager and/or Operations Manager for remediation as necessary
  • Ensures accuracy of loan closing/funding and post-close activities
  • Assists with verification of newly boarded loans to ensure accurate input within E-Tran
  • Remains apprised of Closing Specialists' responsibilities to provide personnel coverage or manage pipeline overflow as needed
  • Communicates pertinent company and closing information to team as it becomes available
  • Willingness for continued education and training to ensure up-to-date knowledge of the SBA's SOP
  • Handles other responsibilities or special projects as needed by Operations Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have ability to understand all business processes within the credit union
  • Must be resourceful and have excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to analyze information critically
  • Must demonstrate adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced general office environment
  • Must be flexible and able to shift resources and priorities as required
  • Must be comfortable with multi-tasking an assortment of assignments and responsibilities
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative to accomplish work objectives
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, along with being resourceful, well-organized, and demonstrating critical thinking, problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must have a high level of integrity and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be able to prioritize and operate with a sense of urgency
  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant's members

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field or relevant industry experience preferred
  • SBA 7(a) lending experience preferred
  • Experience in a compliance function preferred
