Salary Range: $3,500/per course.

Hours: 10 hours per week, non-benefits eligible FTT faculty position.

Essential Functions

Lecturers are responsible for maintaining office hours for each course taught, grading, course preparation(s), to work under supervision of the chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited university.
  • Lecturer teaching experience and qualifications comparable to those of faculty members in the untenured, tenure track positions.
  • Lecturers may teach up to four classes a semester at the undergraduate or graduate level, in their area of expertise including:
  • ECE
  • EC-6 Certification (Math required)
  • 4-8 Certification
  • 7-12 Certification
  • Reading Specialist
  • Literacy Education
  • Special Education
  • Physical Education K-12
  • Clinical Teaching Supervision in all Certification Areas: EC-6, 4-8, 7-12, Special Education, and Physical Education


Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience teaching undergraduate courses.

Working Conditions
  • May be required to teach evenings, one or more courses. Time and days dependent upon scheduling of course(s). Dependent on position filled, work modality could include:
  • On Campus: Primary work location will be on the UTSA Main and/or Downtown campus.
  • Remote: Primarily works from a remote location in Texas and comes to campus as needed. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
  • Hybrid: Works remotely and on campus (approximately 5 or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
