Responsibilities

Functions under the administrative guidance of the shift charge nurse, manager, or director to provide services to emergency patients. Under the clinical direction of the Emergency Department Physician, collects and conveys information to physicians and licensed nurses regarding the health status of patients


Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Paramedic training program, BLS, ACLS and PALS
  • Broad knowledge of ESI (Estimated Severity Index) triage scoring system, starting peripheral IVs, obtaining 12-lead EKG
  • Minimum of 2 years of pre-hospital experience of providing immediate stabilization and transport of sick and injured patients. Hospital experience preferred but not required
  • Current license issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health as a Paramedic.
  • Current Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and PALS
