The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Partners with Division Administrator in organizing and coordinating the day-to-day office operations of the division and multidisciplinary IP8 practice. Provides oversight and direction to office staff; ensuring efficiency in academic, practice management, financial and support services of the Division. This position will report to the Division Administrator & Chief of GI & Endocrine Surgery. The incumbent will ensure that all patients, visitors, guests and coworkers receive personalized, prompt attention and are treated with receptiveness, dignity and respect.

Responsibilities



  • Supervises, coordinates and participates in daily office operations.
  • Oversees the front-end revenue cycle functions including registration, insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations, time of service collections, charge entry- utilizing available tools and resources.
  • Coordinates operational activities, including resolution of personnel/system problems, staff scheduling, reconciling time sheets and training (backup).
  • Maintains confidentiality related to human resource operations.
  • Assists the Division Administrator with administrative planning and initiatives aimed at facilitating growth, improving operations, patient care quality, developing and implementing policies and procedures to maximize workflow.
  • Verifies insurance benefits for surgical procedures and oversee collection of insurance payments including deductibles and co-insurances.
  • Reviews and updates operations workflows to increase patient satisfaction scores with Division Administrator.
  • Coordinates onboarding of staff and physicians.
  • Manages provider credentialing and enrollment with managed care plans and federals payors as well as other licensing agencies.
  • Ensures service excellence by becoming thoroughly familiar with the "Six Principles of Behavior" and putting them into practice in carrying out job responsibilities.
  • Orders lab coats, parking passes, FedEx Air bills supplies, copier/printer supplies and NYP catering and submits RICOH monthly reads.
  • Reviews and submits invoices for processing and keys/facilities requests.
  • Coordinates scheduling the staff and attend front end quarterly meetings.
  • Completes and enters computer operations service requests and facility work orders.
  • Supports marketing and social media efforts to enhance referral base.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications




  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and 3 yrs experience.
