WORK LOCATION: Bedford, MA
Core Purpose:
Our team develops and supports membrane manufacturing for use in ultra-high purity semiconductor applications. The R&D Chemical Engineering Co-op is responsible for supporting the R&D Process Engineering team with ongoing projects. You will work closely with the Process engineering team and production team; driving different aspects of the projects including continuous improvement initiatives to increase yields and efficiency as well as ensuring quality and safety are built into the process at each step. You will work on clearly defined projects that will support the fundamental understanding of our products and processes.

In this role, you will:
* Support the development of lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, standard work, problem-solving, value stream mapping, training, and employee involvement
* Investigate and develop a fundamental understanding of process dynamics
* Apply manufacturing best practices to drive reliability and predictability into everything we do
* Develop, lead, and implement projects that improve different aspects of ongoing R&D projects and deliver savings that support corporate objectives, such as; on-time delivery, productivity, scrap reduction, etc.
* Improve maturity of process data and apply statistical methods to develop a deeper understanding of our process with the goal of achieving higher yields and efficiency

Physical Requirements:
Be able to lift reasonable weight, operate machinery safely, and be able to stand and or walk as needed.
