Mechatronics Engineer

McWane Poles, a world class manufacturer of ductile iron pipe and poles located in Provo, Utah since 1926 is currently accepting applications for a Mechatronics Engineer. Our Poles Department has a brand new fully automated assembly line. Those interested should be enthusiastic about working in an industrial setting, self motivated and willing to take on assigned tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Familiar with Siemons components
  • Factory talk view studio
  • AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent
  • Cognex Vision Systems or equivalent
  • Familiar with multiple types of sensors
  • Microsoft Project , Excel, word or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in extreme weather
  • Ability to walk long distances in the production area

Responsibilities

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze vendor design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of electrical designs or applications.
  • Oversee design, installation, and operation of the electrical portion of new and modified equipment.
  • Program the operation of the equipment through a PLC.
  • Program and troubleshoot CNC drill.
  • Read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Develop the electrical design of the equipment using AutoCAD Electrical software.
  • Update plant single line drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Update power distribution model using EasyPower and perform arc flash calculations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures due to electrical systems.


Qualifications

Mimimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics is preferred but will consider similar degree or equaviliant experience.
  • 5 Years or more of related work experience is preferred.
