Job Overview

The Cook Expediter is responsible for assembling patient and guest meal trays while monitoring quality and accuracy. The Cook Expediter will coordinate the meal workflow and distribution to aid the hosts in delivering meal orders to patients & families in a timely manner.

Job Status: 40 hours per week, eligible for benefits
Shift: Days/Evenings. Monday -Friday, four 8-hour shifts starting between 6:00am - 12:30pm

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

  • No direct patient care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assemble patient trays beginning with collecting hot and cold food items from room service cooks; complete by adding expediter and checker food and misc. items while following provided tray presentation guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers by producing accurate and timely meal preparation by room service cooks.
  • Troubleshoot patient meal questions or concerns to room service coordinator as needed.
  • Help co-workers in all areas to maintain quality & efficiency of department
  • Organizes and stocks the room service serving line with all items under the expediter and checker prep list
  • Confirms accuracy of patient trays by comparing patient tray against tray ticket for compliance of diet order pertaining to food allergies, modified diets, and portion sizes as well as accuracy of ordered items.
  • Keeps work area clean and in compliance with JC/Tri County.
  • Utilize Tray Monitor System ensuring all trays are promoted to the Room Service carts in a timely manner.
  • Run patient tray carts as needed to maintain quality & efficiency of department and patient and guest meal trays are delivered on time.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate with management when additional service recovery is needed or a safety concern occurs.
  • Work with staff to communicate proper meal preparation.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $36,181.92 to $54,272.89
Hourly Salary Range: $17.40 to $26.09
