About the Position

As the Assessor Clerk II, you will provide a second-tier support function to the assigned department, working closely with the Appraisal and Clerical staff as the primary contact for processing documentation reviewed and submitted by appraisers or customers. You will work closely as a liaison for escalated issues, support various processes, update information in real-time, record-keeping of process changes, ensure proper file and document retention, research incoming data for accuracy, prepare files for meetings or hearings, and compile data for public information requests.

We Require

  • Three years of clerical experience using computers to review and research information, enter, and extract data, and process documents

  • High School diploma or GED

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Value

  • Experience directly related to real estate and appraisal in an Arizona County

  • Experience and knowledge of appraisal valuation, and appeals guidelines as they pertain to the Arizona Constitution and Arizona Revised Statute

  • Experience working in an Assessor's Office in any capacity

Job Contributions

  • Provide responsive customer service by answering telephones, emails, written, or in-person inquiries as to the status of documents received, rechecks, appeals, Notice of Proposed Corrections, appraisal updates, ownership, or other duties as assigned

  • Facilitate property owner requests and assists in the completion of decisions rendered on various affidavits submitted

  • Work closely with the Supervisor and Appraisal staff. Lead the timely and accurate processing and preparation of files to include, but not limited to appointment scheduling, compiling, labeling, and uploading data. Receive and review decisions and filings for disposition and entering

  • Ensure accuracy of data entry and perform escalated edits to accounts with designated permissions and privileges

  • Support team leads and staff by helping train in all processes, update and document changes in procedures, act as a technical resource to staff, and assist with the completion of work according to deadlines

  • Support special projects involving research with a higher level of difficulty, collaborates with other workgroups to think outside the box learning new ideas with flexibility and motivation

  • Multitasker performing a variety of clerical support tasks, ensure on-time completion of tasks, knowledge of various procedures, and expertise to support both our internal and external customers

  • Responsible for monitoring and supply ordering within the department

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office environment that may require long periods of sitting and reviewing electronic documents on a computer monitor

  • Ability to exert up to 10 lbs. occasionally
