MGM Resorts International is seeking a visionary and highly technical leader to serve as the Executive Director of Data Platform & Engineering. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading the transformation of our data platform, ensuring its scalability, security, and ability to deliver actionable insights across the organization.

• Lead the development and execution of a strategic roadmap for the data platform, encompassing data lake, data warehouse, data modeling, and architecture.
• Lead the team of architects and engineers that is responsible for developing the implementing technology standards for the data platform to deliver incremental value continually.
• Lead the operations of the platform and ensure existing capabilities are delivered at the right uptime and performance
• Champion data governance initiatives, establishing clear policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
• In partnership with the security team, lead the security definition and implementation of those across the layers of the platform
• Build a culture of data ownership, deep domain understanding across the team
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust and scalable data platform infrastructure.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision making by collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and map to platform evolution.
• Manage a team of talented data engineers, data architects, and data scientists, fostering their professional development.
• Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in the data platform space, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
• Deep technical and architecture expertise in data lake, data warehouse, and databases
• Deep expertise and experience in data modeling and data architecture principles.
• Deep Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Experience with Data Bricks, Snowflake, TeraData, Azure Hyperscale or one of the large data platforms.
• Extensive experience with data governance and security best practices.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with business stakeholders across the organization.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Experience within the hospitality or entertainment industry.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for business users.
