Overview
This position aids fair lending and community goals by providing mortgages for culturally diverse organizations. Originates government, conventional, nonconforming, construction, and permanent mortgage products to strategically drive diverse loan production. Leverages mortgage business opportunities through a variety of sales techniques, including outbound calling for sourced leads. Aids diverse lending and business development efforts to drive revenue aligned with the Bank's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Mortgage Origination - Interviews applicants to obtain necessary information on financial needs and goals, employment, income, credit, assets and liabilities. Utilizes information to qualify the applicant for an appropriate mortgage loan product. Counsels clients on alternative mortgage products to match their capacities and goals. Negotiates rate and terms of loans with applicant in an effort to be competitive and profitable to the Bank.
- Loan Support - Submits loan applications with complete borrower information, documentation, and other aspects necessary for processing. Coordinates timely processing and closing of loans with processors, underwriters, appraisers, and closing agents. Responds to questions from branch associates and clients concerning status on loans in process. Handles internal referrals on a limited basis.
- Sales - Represents the Bank in diverse lending and outreach opportunities to generate sales leads. Participates in calling efforts and other sales strategies to leverage potential leads. Identifies opportunities to cross-sell Bank products and services when appropriate with existing clients.
- Loan Expertise - Maintains current knowledge of all mortgage loan products including eligibility standards, documentation, and underwriting requirements. Understands the sales and usage of government and conventional loan products, mortgage insurance, and down payment assistance programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Mortgage origination or Mortgage telephone sales OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Mortgage origination or Mortgage telephone sales
License or Certification Type: Must complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by the SAFE Act. Required, Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. Bank car not provided. Required
Skill(s): Proven track record in financial product sales., Demonstrate strong relationship management skills., Bilingual (Spanish).
