Responsibilities

  • The STEMI/CP is responsible for the implementation, coordination and maintenance of designated certification and recognition programs that promote evidence based clinical practices that comply with national standards for quality of care for Cardiac patients including the American Heart Association, Society of Cardiovascular Chest Pain Centers and other accrediting, certification or regulatory agencies.
  • The ability to communicate on a professional level and maintain good interpersonal relations with multidisciplinary clinicians and other allied health care providers is a major challenge of many certifications programs.
  • The STEMI and Chest Pain programs require coordination with EMS providers, physicians, registered nurses and technicians at all levels of patient care.
  • In-service education of all program participants is a major challenge and a required objective to achieve a successful program.
  • Development and implementation of a cardiac transfer network with other health care facilities will also present a significant challenge to coordination of patient care to achieve nationally recognized standards of care for STEMI and Chest Pain patients.
  • Coordination of resources and practices across this continuum of care is a key component to the successful management of patients with acute or chronic cardiac conditions.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • RN, BSN
  • CPR;
  • Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
  • Three (3) years Emergency Department Experience. Prior STEMI-chest pain center experience.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Nursing/Business or equivalent
  • Five (5) years previous job related experience with supervisory experience preferred.
