Your responsibilities

thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. is currently seeking a staff accountant reporting to our Atlanta, GA office.

The staff accountant is responsible for coordinating and supervising the accounts receivable and treasury processes for thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc.'s four U.S.-based locations and providing execution support in multiple key areas of the Controlling, Accounting, and the Reporting department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates accounts receivables processes including:
    • Processing and monitoring incoming payments from customers.
    • Generating and sending customer invoices and bills based on accounting procedures.
    • Following up on unpaid invoices and late payments from customers.
    • Reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies.
    • Researching and resolving customer payment issues.
  • Assists in office's treasury function, which includes execution of payments, payment run reviews, and execution and tracking of unpaid positions.
  • Assists Accounting Manager with ad-hoc reporting, analyses, and research projects.
  • Supports in tax reporting and calculations from thyssenkrupp North America.
  • Supports external and internal audit requests.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities.


Your profile

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; and a minimum of two years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Practical experience with AR management, standard reconciliations, payment executions, customer management
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other major accounting software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP
  • Percentage of completion revenue recognition and construction accounting
  • Experience implementing internal controls for accounting processes
  • Familiar with IFRS standards, particularly IFRS9, IFRS15, IFRS16

Travel Demands:

  • Up to 10%
