Senior Attorney, Distributed Solar + Storage

What You Can Expect

As our Senior Attorney for Distributed Solar+Storage (DSS) at ENGIE, your role will have a broad range of responsibilities to help support and facilitate a rapidly growing business. We seek a Senior Attorney who will be responsible for providing legal support to all aspects of the Distributed Renewables business entity, including origination, project development, project M&A, construction and financing. Every day you will report to the Head of Leal, Distributed Renewables developing and executing comprehensive legal strategies and solutions while mitigating risk.

What You'll Bring



  • You must hold Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school is required to do the work for this role
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience of law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Experience in commercial contracting within the energy sector is required; an understanding of energy storage, distributed generation and the renewables market would be beneficial to the success of this role
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with a strong commitment to professional/ethical standards
  • Demonstrate commercial understanding, good judgment on legal risk decisions and on when to escalate
  • Real estate, permitting, construction and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) experience also preferred
  • Excellent drafting and commercial skills along with communication skills
  • Being familiar with, and demonstrate responsibility for a range of structured finance transactions
  • Technical and legal (and other) risk awareness skills
  • Demonstrating experience with innovative deals and structuring
  • Articulating firm's governance and risk policies
  • Transaction and project management skills



Additional Details



  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; with some travel and ability to work beyond scheduled hours depending on workload
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • You must be state certified to practice law in Texas or Illinois



Compensation

Salary Range: $166,900 - $255,070 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
