Summary:
The Storeroom Attendant is an integral part of the Materials Management Team. He/She ships and receives hospital supplies and equipment ensuring integrity of data entry interfaces for receipt of goods. He/She also helps maintain inventory, fills and delivers stock requisitions, ordering of storeroom supplies and other general storeroom duties.

Responsibilities:
Patients, Staff and Sales Representatives are served in providing materials, equipment, and service. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School graduate
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
  • Computer knowledge desirable. Related work experience preferred.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
  • Verbal ability to communicate effectively. Use of simple arithmetic is required to add and subtract quantity of stock items when posting perpetual inventory records. Manual dexterity is required in lifting packages and other items in a rapid and skillful manner so as to avoid damage to containers and contents.
  • Office Skills Desirable: Include operation of fax machines, copy machines, printers and office phones.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequent exposure to cold and heat due to unloading of packages. May be exposed to odors in kitchen. Occasional pressure due to multiple inquiries.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
  • Frequent standing, lifting, bending in transfer of handling materials, equipment, and use of office machinery. Communication is essential when conferring with representatives, staff, and patients.
