Nurse Practitioner Cardiac Stress Adult Electrocardiography Full Time 78016BR Job Summary The Cardiac Stress Nurse Practitioner has the primary role of ensuring the safety of the patient during the performance of a cardiac stress test. Working independently and collaboratively with the attending cardiologist, this individual will perform cardiac stress testing on Adult patients in the stress lab at Parnassus and across all UC locations as required. The NP works with the patient's referring Provider to ensure appropriate stress testing. The NP is responsible for the pre-assessment of the patient, diagnostic preparation, and obtaining consent. The NP monitors the patient throughout the test, in recovery and is responsible for the completion of documentation. Working under Standardized Procedures the Nurse Practitioner will provide urgent care to patients experiencing acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias or other test/post-test complications using guidelines from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology. The testing includes performing exercise and pharmacological stress testing following advanced practice protocols. Supervision of the technicians during the stress test is expected.
