BASIC PURPOSE

The Area Facilities Operations Manager reports to the Facility Directors and Facility Officers and is responsible for the effective operation of the environmental, mechanical, and electrical operations systems of the facility including but are not limited to heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, major refrigeration systems, electrical lighting, distribution for facilities assigned to them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Monitor the environmental and protection systems for the facility and perform the scheduled preventative maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical / electrical systems, HVAC systems and life safety equipment.
  2. Respond to all facility alarms, mechanical/electrical system failures and any incidents during regular hours and after hours when on call to file proper incident reports
  3. Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures, and practices. Understand building codes.
  4. May oversee Maintenance Department employee schedules and duties if needed.
  5. Provide technical support and create scopes of work for repairs, projects and services contracts for equipment for all facilities assigned to them.
  6. Position will work closely with other staff members to prescribe daily, weekly, monthly, reports on equipment. Work with Up Keep program to ensure that it is being utilized to its full potential in our facilities and that managers are using it properly.
  7. Follow established protocols for the periodic check of systems and the servicing of emergency lights, water heaters, security systems, fire systems and HVAC equipment.
  8. Develop skills, attend continuing education sessions and attain personal qualifications standards (having a personal understanding of the fire system, water shut down, equipment operation, etc.) to ensure the technical competency and teamwork required to provide quality service.
  9. Organize and assist with the set-up of all events.
  10. Travel within the assigned area and perform any maintenance services as requested.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements



  1. Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalency, Journeyman Electrical
  2. License preferred and/or alternative contractor certification or license.


Skills



  1. Minimum 2 years plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping experience preferred.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work without supervision.
  3. Demonstrated ability to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  4. Ability to reason and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent attention to detail.
  6. Ability to balance multiple tasks at once.
  7. Must be willing to work a varied shift (nights, weekends, etc.)
  8. May be required to work flexible hours, weekends and evenings.
  9. Be self-motivated and self-directed with the ability and desire to take projects from beginning through completion.
  10. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  11. Must have a Smart Phone
  12. Must be able to operate a Laptop or Tablet.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  1. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
  2. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
  3. Ability to reach overhead
  4. Ability to operate telephone
  5. Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs
  6. Ability to operate a computer
  7. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
  8. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
