Job Summary

As a team member of the Environmental Services department, the intern will be responsible for managing assigned projects and supporting team members, in alignment with the business's requirements and priorities. This position contributes to the department by improving quality and flow of information and data, building / reinforcing departmental culture, and promoting the adoption of new processes and tools. This internship will target sustainability reporting for Luminant's generating and mining facilities by developing and implementing environmental tools that maintain optimum operational flexibility. Candidate may be asked to assist in other environmental disciplines such as air compliance and permitting, sustainability, regulatory, and waste as required.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Plan, develop and implement environmental projects as required or needed by management to support business operations.

Support implementation of environmental compliance programs for Luminant Generation and Mining facilities that minimizes system risk and ensures compliance with regulatory and business standards.

Recommend and design solutions to meet site, corporate, and end user reporting needs.

Position may require occasional travel to plant sites or corporate offices in Irving, Texas.

All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience

Graduate student or a junior/senior undergraduate student pursuing degree in environmental sciences, life sciences, hydrology, geology, engineering, computer sciences, or related field.

Skill Requirements

Incumbent must possess and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate to peers and management.

Incumbent must possess and demonstrate the ability to effectively develop trust and build relationships with peers.

Incumbent must have advanced computer skills, including MS Office products, and possess a basic understanding of software development lifecycles.

The incumbent must have strong analytical skills for assessing technical issues management.

The incumbent must possess and demonstrate the ability to sequence and prioritize tasks and to organize resources productively to anticipate problems and adjust accordingly.

The incumbent must possess and demonstrate the ability to use sound, fair, judgment and be self-motivated to make and meet commitments and deadlines.

The incumbent must possess a dedication for personal safety and utilize safe work practices.
