Compensation: $65,000 /yr

Overview / Job Summary:

The Hospitality Operations Manager for NICHE, located on the WSU Tech NICHE campus, will play a crucial role in overseeing the strategic management and execution of day-to-day operations of NICHE. Reporting directly to the Director, National Institute for Culinary & Hospitality Education (NICHE), this multifaceted role encompasses event planning and execution, hospitality operations, client and guests' relations, sales, billing, and representation of NICHE for events on and off campus.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:


  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event requested objectives to ensure they are in line with NICHE policy, procedure, and deliverables.

    • This role is the primary point of contact for clients and will address inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.


  • Conduct site tours as needed and assist in booking(s), lead generation and sales inquiries.
  • Develop detailed event plans to include budget, timelines, and logistics for each event.
  • Maintain records of events, contracts, and client communication and generate accurate and timely event invoicing ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and billing terms.
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving schedule as needed for events management. Nights and weekends will be required.


Join our team and take charge of the day-to-day operations of our events at NICHE. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that our rental facilities are maintained to the highest standards and ready for any occasion. You'll work closely with the WSU Tech marketing team to promote NICHE through various channels, including social media and industry events. Managing temporary event staff, including third-party employees and vendors, will also be part of your role. Safety and security are paramount, so you'll collaborate on developing and implementing protocols with campus security. Additionally, you'll oversee Chef's Table reservations and the smooth operation of our bistro and food hall. Your expertise will extend to collaborating with college staff on campus-wide events.

Education:

  • Degree in Hospitality Management, or similar, preferred.


Required/Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of three years progressive experience in event coordination and or venue management.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice suite as well as ability to Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software system.
  • Nights and weekends will be required.
  • Proficient in meeting deadlines and adept at adjusting to various circumstances.
