Job Summary

The Student Services Specialist will be a critical member of the recruitment team; working with local high schools, partner organizations and community initiatives. This includes travel to off campus events as well as on-campus presentations and tours. This role is customer-facing and serves as a liaison for prospective and current students by directing students to their desired degree/program information as well as personnel and services within CGCC. To provide an excellent student experience, this position may also support other enrollment areas such as Admissions, Academic Advisement, Financial Aid, and Early College as needed.

Essential Functions

55% - Coordinate, Plan, and Execute on and off campus recruitment events, as well as New Student Orientation. Create and update presentations and informational materials regarding CGCC's degree programs, departments/services and enrollment processes. Outreach utilizing HubSpot (CRM system ) to follow up on inquiries

25% - Provide enrollment services support for Admissions, Academic Advisement, Financial Aid, and Early College both in-person and virtually.

15% - Communicates with students and parents in person; email; virtually; and telephone for both outreach and enrollment services.

5% -Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one (1) full-time equivalent year of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

OR

High School Diploma or GED and three (3) full-time equivalent years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

Desired Qualifications

1. B i-lingual, English & Spanish

2. Experience supporting new student orientation at a college or university

3. Demonstrated experience speaking and presenting to large groups in a public setting

4. Direct experience recruiting students or customers in a educational or business setting

5. One-year minimum experience with technology software such as Conex, CRM, Excel, etc...

6. One-year minimum experience in a high-volume customer service atmosphere

Special Working Conditions
  • Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
  • Will be required to work some evenings and weekends (Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm, varies during peak times)
  • Travel to off-site locations will be required 30-40% The travel involved in this position is to local high schools, community organizations and companies to participate in recruitment events and presentations. Most travel will be in the general east valley but there may be some instances where longer distance travel is required, based on need.
  • May be assigned to Pecos or Williams Campus
