School Psychologist Supervisor

Willow Oaks Administrative Center

Description

Serves as a supervisor and manages the daily operations for a team of school psychologists that provide a full range of psychological services to schools, comprehensive services sites, and early childhood assessment teams; supports the provision of high-quality psychological services and ethical practices to meet the Division's strategic goals of having students achieve optimal learning.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in school psychology, or a program deemed equivalent by the Virginia Department of Education review consisting of 60 graduate semester hours, plus a one-year internship as prescribed by the college awarding the degree.
  • Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience in school psychology.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with endorsement in school psychology.
  • Knowledge of Division regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures, particularly related to special education identification and service delivery, psychological evaluation and report writing, threat assessment, suicide risk assessment, counseling, and human resources.
  • Knowledge of psychological theory and practice as applied to the behavior and development of children and young adults.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to the needs and requirements of a public school system.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with other professionals within the school and the community.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Analytic ability and adaptability to changing needs.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to prepare comprehensive reports, interpret findings for families and interact with diverse populations in the Division to provide psychological guidance and recommendations.

$84,634 - $144,018
