Imaging Assistant-Full Time, 3rd Shift

Major Responsibilities:
  • Customer Satisfaction
    • 1)Works with the technologist to ensure that patients and customers needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
    • 2)Maintains a positive relationship with all customers i.e. patients, other departments, Physicians and fellow associates.
    • 3)Assists the technologist with special procedures, localizations, and stereotatic biopsy. CT guided biopsy and US guided biopsy.
    • 4)Able to review films with radiologists for interpretation.
    • 5)Prepare patients for their exam. Assists in changing patients, verifying physician's orders, obtaining histories / referrals if needed, explains procedure, when applicable assists patients to exam room.
    • 6)Transport patients from the floor (pt room) and back. To and from ER.
    • 7)Assist technologist with difficult patients, portable procedures, maneuvering carts and positioning patients.
    • 8)Address and resolve customer complaints if within the associate's capabilities.
    • 9)Ensure on-time completion of your performance pathway * Send out co-worker feedback forms 6 months before review to associates you and your leader have identified as able to provide valuable feedback. * Submit self-evaluation to leader two weeks before review
    • 10)Participates quarterly in the TNT associate satisfaction survey Submit ideas each year for improving customer satisfaction.
  • Quality
    • 1)Answers phones in a professional manner, identifies department and self to caller. Takes accurate messages .
    • 2)Accurately use the paging system to communicate results.
    • 3)Accurately completes all data entries in the RIS and HIS.
    • 4)Process films through the darkroom. When working in general radiology and mammo.
    • 5)Sends lay letters to patients with results of their mammograms according to FDA guidelines. When in mammography.
    • 6)Schedules patients through the radiology information system, evaluating daily schedules for optimum patient flow.
    • 7)Reviews pre-pulled jackets for daily workload.
    • 8)Retrieves films from outside facilities when previous are needed.
    • 9)Retrieve master file jackets from the radiology file room, complete file jacket information and combine completed exams with file jacket.
    • 10)Able to load/unload films on the alternator for the radiologist's interpretation. Prepares necessary supplies prior to exam. Stock exam rooms, maintains order and cleanliness of work areas. Demonstrates safety in all areas, electrical, environmental, radiation etc. Ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining a continued awareness of safety hazards. Submits ideas for improving quality in department.

Education/Experience Required:
  • High School Graduate. Six months to one year experience in a Radiology department.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Good interpersonal skills Good communication skills Good interpersonal skills Knowledge of computers
  • CPR Certification


Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • May be exposed to radiation; hazardous materials & life threatening diseases. Ability to lift and/or move patients, heavy lifting according to DOL standards. Ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week, including weekends. This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging: prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
