Primary Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect or SME to understand the existing process/workflow in detail
  • Work with Business/Systems Analysts to understand the Business requirements, and create the corresponding blueprint for implementing the solution or the components of a new system
  • Detailed analysis on the System, Data and impacted API's
  • Review, understand and make decisions on Provider Data and API sufficiency, Data Mapping and Transformation
  • Propose high level solution to the problem - i.e. define scope, context, identify data sources, providing services, reference-data, define high-level domain model etc
  • Define problem clearly with current state and future state model
  • Act as SME for IT team regarding functional requirements
  • Holds ownership on analyzing all dependencies/necessities which are external to the project (for example providers data, providers API availability and provider data sufficiency details or data mapping, coordination etc.)
  • Bring enterprise software knowledge and suggest already existing solutions, services, frameworks, or libraries
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging technologies / products / tools / trends related to architectural solutions. Evaluate and utilize those findings to influence our application architecture
  • Facilitate / lead / participate in identification of risks related to technical solutions
  • Create POCs as needed, architectural artifacts and deliverables that communicate clearly to dev teams and address the requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) OR 4+ years of IT experience
  • 8+ years of strong hands-on experience with Java Enterprise Edition (Java/J2EE) and web technologies
  • 8+ years of technical experience with application integration: SOA, Web Services, RESTful, Message Queue solutions using SOAP, JSON, XML, Java/ J2ee
  • 3+ years of experience in an architecture role, designing end-to-end solutions across the complete system development lifecycle
  • 3+ years of experience with a variety of modern open-source technologies (Kafka, Kubernetes)
  • 3+ years of experience with web security, application security, web services security, common vulnerability remediation
  • 3+ years of experience designing and contributing to an event-driven architecture


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Solid knowledge in OO Design Principles, core OOPS, JEE Design patterns as well as their implementation in real world applications
  • Strong knowledge of JSON
  • Experience in implementing containerized and scalable software based on microservices
  • Demonstrated experience with software design and architecture patterns
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly technical environment with an attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of software quality engineering principles
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present to people at all levels across the enterprise

California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $104,700 to $190,400 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
