Research Assistant

The Dept of Environmental Health and Engineering is seeking a Research Assistant that will assist in the day-to-day analysis of data on housing energy use and thermodynamic characteristics, and the execution of dynamic heating and cooling models. The analysis includes dynamic simulations (solutions of differential equations) and statistical analyses of model outputs for approximately 1000 homes in Texas.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Update and creation of result tables and figures for previous analyses of thermal battery simulations for Texas homes.
  • Simulation of water heater use, using estimates of water heater capacitance, resistance, and water use, while providing statistical analysis.
  • Write up of models used and results.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: 8 hrs/wk, M-F
