Community Educator - Naloxone Distribution

Position Summary:


Create community and employee awareness regarding the importance of Naloxone, to improve the understanding and use of Naloxone and education activities. This position assist with the distribution of Naloxone, able to perform education, assist with data collecting, customer education and community presentations.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Valid IL Drivers License upon hire.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Work does require travel to other facilities.
  • May drive a Carle Health vehicle, rental or own vehicle.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.


Essential Functions:

Client/Customer Education

  • Develops, implements and evaluates naloxone education material for clients, employees and/or community participants.
  • Assist Wellness Manager with yearly strategic plans.
  • Evaluates and recommends wellness educational material for employees and/or community persons.
  • Assist as needed with kick off meetings for new clients, new hire training and intern education.
  • Creates or revises one new education program annually.
  • Present and promotes naloxone education topics to employees and/or community person.
  • Able to provide appropriate recommendations to clients after reviewing health screening results.

Clinical Excellence

  • Performs duties at screenings which include, but are not limited to, education and distribution of naloxone.
  • Works with Program Manager to insurance coverage for events.
