Wilson Elser's Chicago office is currently seeking a Paralegal to join a fast-paced team. This is an onsite position.

The Position

Qualifications


  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate
  • 3+ years litigation paralegal experience in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with program management, preparing records, assembling exhibits, pleadings, summarizing transcripts, medical record analysis, discovery, and trial preparation required
  • Experience drafting and responding to standard discovery demands (interrogatories, requests to produce documents, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
  • Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands daily
  • Must be able to work independently and be proactive
  • Experience with e-discovery and using Relativity or other document review platforms is a plus

  • 1400 hour annual billable hour requirement
  • Maintaining diary/calendar of all deadlines for data breach notifications and responses to regulatory investigations
  • Drafting applicable data breach notices to individuals and regulators
  • Assisting in preparing responses to regulatory investigations and requests for information, including compiling narrative responses, exhibits, bates-labeling
  • Obtaining pricing quotes from third party vendors for notice and other projects
  • Interacting with clients, insurance carriers, and vendors as needed
  • Prepare records, review and prepare exhibits, analyze and summarize medical records, and trial preparation
  • Contact outside sources (government agencies, etc.) to obtain public information and review and analyze the same
  • Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information
  • Prepare summary of pertinent transcripts
  • Assemble chronologies of pertinent facts, medical records and key documents
  • Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants
  • Determine, prepare and organize materials needed for expert witness review
  • Conduct investigative research on opposing parties and expert witnesses
  • Manage documents and organize case files
  • Assist in preparing breach notifications to individuals and regulators
  • Assist in preparing responses to requests for information by State and Federal regulators in connection with cyber incidents
  • Working with third party vendors to support investigation of cyber incidents and notification
  • Obtaining third party vendor pricing quotes and keeping track of vendor contracts and Statements of Work
  • Keeping track of deadlines for notification, reporting, and responses to regulators
