The University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU SOM) seeks an experienced Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Scientist, ideally at the associate professor level, to be a core member of an active and growing D&I research, training and consultation program. This position will be predominantly research and research methodology consulting, although some teaching in our graduate certificate program in D&I is desirable. The position is open to applicants with postdoctoral PhD level training and extensive expertise in D&I science. The position will involve partnership with diverse programs, departments and disciplines across the CU SOM, as well as other schools, community and academic partner organizations. The position is within the D&I Science Program of the CU and Children's Hospital Colorado Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) and an academic home in the Department of Family Medicine or other CU SOM Department mutually determined by the candidate and home department. ACCORDS D&I Homepage A specific content area of interest within the area of D&I science is not required; although we are especially interested in applicants with expertise in: - systems science and learning health systems; - dissemination science, including health communication and social marketing; and - alignment with areas of current ACCORDS D&I program strengths https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/accords/cores-and-programs/dissemination-implementation-science-program/about-uson The successful candidate should have interest and expertise in several of the following areas and be able to do general transdisciplinary D&I collaborations and consultations: D&I models and frameworks, pragmatic research methods and evaluation, mixed methods approaches, and training/mentoring in D&I science. The emphasis is on general D&I methods skills and contributing to our D&I team with the overall goal of integrating clinical and community resources to enhance population health and health equity. In addition to the content areas listed above, we are interested in expanding our existing research in the areas of health equity and social determinants of health, cancer prevention and control, mental health, digital health, primary care, geriatric or pediatric research, shared decision making, or health behavior change including diabetes and obesity. The successful applicant will have a portion of his/her/their time for building their own program of research in addition to rich collaborations and support of other investigators. The D&I Science Program offers the opportunity for being part of a vibrant environment with a focus on advancing D&I science and pragmatic research. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide D&I consultative advising and support to Anschutz Medical Campus faculty
- Serve as a co-investigator and mentor on ACCORDS D&I grants providing D&I science expertise
- Participate in teaching in the D&I Graduate Certificate Program and other workshops and seminars
- Secure grants and contracts/contract vehicles (as PI) in health services research and participating (as a Co-I) in active research
- Collaborate actively across ACOCRDS and campus, and be a core member of the D&I science program

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor:
- Education: PhD or equivalent in behavioral or social sciences, public health, nursing or pharmacy. Terminal degree in Medicine, Osteopathy (MD or DO)
- Experience: Graduation from an accredited graduate program.
- Special Skills: ONLY IF A PHYSICIAN: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care.
Associate Professor:
- Education: PhD or equivalent in behavioral or social sciences, public health, nursing or pharmacy. Terminal degree in Medicine, Osteopathy (MD or DO)
- Experience: Graduation from an accredited graduate program and combination of research post-doc and at least 5 years' experience working in implementation or health services research.
- Special Skills: Ability to meet the School of Medicine's criteria for associate professor. ONLY IF PHYSICIAN: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care.
Professor:
- Education: PhD or equivalent in behavioral or social sciences, public health, nursing or pharmacy. Terminal degree in Medicine, Osteopathy (MD or DO)
- Experience: Graduation from an accredited graduate program and combination of research post doc and 8 or more years' experience working in implementation science or health services research.
- Special Skills: Ability to meet the School of Medicine's criteria for full professor. ONLY IF PHYSICIAN: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care.
Preferred Qualifications: Assistant Professor:
- 1-2 years' experience mentoring, training or educating post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and residents.
- 1-5 years' experience working in a research, medical school or public health environment.
- 1-5 years' experience and interest in collaborating with and providing research consultations to a wide variety of researchers, program planners and evaluators, clinical and community partners.
- 1-3 years' experience working on transdisciplinary teams
- Strong publication and NIH, PCORI or AHRQ grant funding record
- Formal training or demonstrated track record (i.e., publications, expertise) in D&I science- e.g., a degree or certificate program.
Associate Professor:
- 3-5 years' experience mentoring, training or teaching post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and residents.
- 2-6 years' experience working in a research, medical school or public health environment.
- 2-6 years' experience and interest in collaborating with and providing research consultations to a wide variety of researchers, program planners and evaluators, clinical and community partners.
- Funded independent research in D&I science
- 2-6 years' experience working on transdisciplinary teams
- Strong publication and NIH, PCORI or AHRQ R01 level grant funding record
- Formal training or demonstrated track record (i.e., publications, expertise) in D&I science- e.g., a degree or certificate program.
Professor:
- 6 or more years' experience mentoring, training or teaching post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and residents.
- 4 or more years' experience working in a research, medical school or public health environment.
- 7 or more years' experience and interest in collaborating with and providing research consultations to a wide variety of researchers, program planners and evaluators, clinical and community partners.
- Funded independent research in D&I science
- 5 or more years' experience working on transdisciplinary teams
- Strong publication and NIH, PCORI or AHRQ R01 level grant funding record
- Formal training or demonstrated track record (i.e., publications, expertise) in D&I science- e.g., a degree or certificate program.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor: $100,000 to $135,000 Associate Professor: $120,000 to $175,000 Professor: $170,000 to $245,000 Guaranteed incentives based on primary care clinical FTE. Additional bonus potential based on the DFM Incentive Plan and annual profitability. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
