About Bunker Hill Community College:

is a multi-campus institution with vibrant, urban campuses in Boston, Massachusetts, in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts, and at several satellites and instructional sites throughout the Greater Boston area. Job Description:

This is a remote, part-time staff position with the Academic Innovation & Distance Education (AIDE) program at BHCC. The part-time developer will provide basic course developer support for BHCC's instructional design program for online and hybrid courses.

The successful applicant will assist with the building of course material inside of the Moodle platform, using Moodle tools, Techsmith Relay, H5P, and other digital tools available to the BHCC campus. The course developer will work with the Instructional Designer, Special Programs Coordinator - Digital Learning, and the Associate Director to build rich and engaging digital course content.


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Education, Interactive Learning Technologies, Technical Writing or related field.
  • Mastery of the English language including spelling, word meaning and word usage. Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language with exceptional copy-editing skills.
  • Experience learning and/or teaching in an online/hybrid environment in higher education.
  • 3+ years of experience authoring content in the Moodle Learning Management System, including knowledge of Moodle 3.7.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and ability to use HTML to code for user experience in a course design environment.
  • Familiarity with ADA requirements and Universal Design principles.
  • Detail oriented and quality minded
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively, work on multiple projects under deadlines, and achieve results with minimal supervision.
  • Consistent access to computer with high-speed internet, Windows 10, and ability to run:
    • Adobe Cloud
    • TechSmith Relay
    • H5P

  • Requires webcam, and headset with microphone or microphone and speaker




Additional Information:

Pay rate: $20.00/hr. @ 10hrs/wk.
