Radiation Therapist

We are searching for a Radiation Therapist to perform a variety of duties to ensure safe and accurate radiation therapy treatment/simulations to patients. Duties include the preparation of treatment rooms for each patient and participation in the orientation and education of patients to treatment regime. Oversee department quality assurance activities including monitoring the daily machine and CT simulator. Effectively utilize problem solving and negotiation skills to manage conflict. Model appropriate behavior at all times to patients and staff at all levels. Provide functional or technical supervision over other employees in the same or closely related job classification where scope of supervisory responsibility is limited to direction, guidance, and explanation.

• Hours: 32 flex 40hrs
• Shift: Day Shift; 8:00am-4:30pm
• Location: Cancer Center - Fairhaven, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• An Associate's Degree in an accredited Radiation Therapy program is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Good customer service skills are required as evidenced through strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience working in an EMR environment with MOSAIQ exposure is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Radiation Therapist and serve as a role model at all times is required.
• Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
• One (1) year of related work experience in radiation oncology is required.
• New graduates with the completion of one (1) year clinical internship in a major cancer center with experience working with current linear accelerators, simulation and verification/record systems will be considered.
