Job Title: Financial System Analyst

Duration: 1 Year, extensions probably; some opportunity to convert FTE for the right fit after about a year

Location: Irvine, CA Hybrid, 1-2 days onsite while can be remote, must be close enough to Irvine to be onsite as needed.

As candidates will be PST, interviews on the second/final round will need to be quite early as this individual sits in the UK - will be scheduling between 6 - 9 AM (most likely 8 - 9 AM).

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Finance System Analysts primary responsibilities will be to develop and improve the Global Financial Planning tool with the supervision of the Finance Systems Director.

The Finance System Analyst is responsible for running maintenance tasks of the Global client system for planning and reporting and providing training to all new users.

The Finance System Analyst is a proactive self-starter that is innovative and eager to understand current process identify areas of opportunity and manage new ideas and ways of doing things to reality.

The Finance System Analyst serves as developer and trainer helping implementing system solutions that advance the client financial planning platform Longview. Continuously seek to improve existing methods and processes. Demonstrate proficiency in designing and implementing models using Longview toolsets. Work collaboratively with technology and business groups to conceive, design, engineer, and implement data, software, and technology solutions that solve significant scientific or business problems. Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in own function and throughout multiple business areas. Contribute to advancement of technology in area of expertise. Develop productive collaborations and communications with other groups across multiple disciplines.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Architect, design, develop and implement Longview Aesthetics Globally [$6B USD Business]:

o Work closely with System team (Longview Team)

o Support Symbol/dimension management, metadata design/maintenance, and data validation processes as part of Financial Planning Systems.

o Work with management to further develop forecasting tools (i.e. Longview) to satisfy business requirements.

o Develop technical design specifications and analyze data to create data structures, dimensions, and measures.

o Develop Longview processes & SAC procedures and rules for building enterprise wide planning applications.

o Data Modeling, design and implementation based on best practices and recognized standards.

o Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

2. Data Validation in Longview & SAC [SAP,BPC, HFM, BIP]

o Validate client data and accuracy in Longview and SAC vs HFM , BIP

o Identify source of variance root cause

o Propose solutions

o Month End / LBE / LRP / Budget cycles

3. Finance Business Partnership Training:

o Train client users to use Longview

o Automate business processes

REPORTS TO:

* Director Finance Systems

* Effectively manage matrix relationships with Finance teams, BSG and BTS.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's Degree B.S. or B.A. in Business (Accounting/Finance) Preferred although not essential. Qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.

* 3+ years of finance/accounting experience. Preferably gained in FP&A setting

* Strong team building skills; ability to set and align goals/priorities.

* Strong business partnership skills and team-oriented nature.

* Experience supporting and presenting to senior business and finance leaders.

* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities (across different time zones) to achieve results and meet deadlines.

* Strong sense of initiative & inquisitive self-starter.

* Disposition to generate ideas and embrace the ideas of others to manage innovation to reality.

* Knowledge of finance systems and business processes essential.

* Longview, SAC, SAP Business Objects, SAP ECC, Teams and Excel, Power BI, Python, Java will be preferred although not essential.

Team is responsible for the planning systems of Aesthetics and support the global group of this group, all around the globe.

Maintains system to be sure all systems are up and running - must like systems, strong with Excel, can extrapolate this knowledge from Excel to Longview. Must have solid interpersonal/customer service skills to assist with trouble shooting individuals from various locations.

Sense of financial background, know the finance language, MBA/Finance degree would be quite helpful. Curious, proactive in asking questions, learning the processes, etc.

If they have worked in any implementation of systems, not picky on which systems, but also FP&A skills would be a good fit.

Any FP&A tools -

Have basic FP&A tools experience - so finance and basic financial planning tools.

Initial interviews with 3 - 5 candidates, then pass the top candidates to the final interview.

This person is focused on those in Latin America and CA/US. As long as they can work normal hours for the most part in CA business hours that is fine. There may be a couple of times per month where they have to be online early for calls, etc.

What types of issues will they be troubleshooting: Input data, maintaining the system, system has to have all the correct information/symbols, etc - sometimes user will submit to the wrong place, so would be granting them access or submitting to the correct place, making sure they have not messed up anything with their inputs. Person will make sure it is created in Longview and all the other client systems.

Technical background and Skills - how important are IT skills versus Finance - if not tech savvy and willing to learn, would be able to train/teach them. If they have a natural tendency to be tech savvy - but if they have never used technology or know how to make it work for them, they would not be a good fit for this role. They must have a curiosity for this, etc.

If possible - this person is replacing someone who is moving so this contract has the possibility to be an FTE - it's a great opportunity with a great company so please use this as a selling point.
