Job Purpose

Deliver programs and specific projects within the Transmission Line/Underground Inspection and Maintenance portfolio. Manage the portfolio to ensure resources are aligned with workload requirements to deliver the current year capex and opex spending plan. Proactively drive the delivery of key strategies, as defined by the respective Asset Management groups, and programs to ensure achievement of work plan goals and targets. Ensure compliance with all company policies, Operating Procedures and Regulatory expectations with regard to the safety and reliability of the company's transmission electric assets.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor and track progress against defined annual work plans for the NY/NE Transmission Line/Underground Inspection and Maintenance department.
  • Participate in building the annual work and resource plans.
  • Review inspection and maintenance data and work with department Manager to evaluate and recommend changes to improve operations.
  • Manage, balance, and coordinate external and internal resources to optimize short- and long-term resource needs and deliver against agreed program of work.
  • Maintain department shared network drive, SharePoint and MS Teams site.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with contractors and other external service providers, including negotiation, interpretation, and application of established contractual agreements and/or service level agreements to ensure adherence to standards and best outcomes for National Grid.
  • Consolidate various inspection results and reconcile with appropriate work order tracking systems.
  • Provide ongoing financial support including:
  • Invoice tracking and processing
  • Process financial accruals and maintain annual department projections
  • Liaise with corporate finance to track monthly expenditures and forecasts
  • Establish and maintain contractor purchase orders
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Track record of developing working relationships quickly and effectively.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree: Engineering or technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project and/or program management, engineering, or finance experience.
  • Experience in project management, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing various company processes and systems including: Microsoft Office, SAP, PowerPlant, Storms, SharePoint, Ariba.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Office including Excel.
  • Familiar with transmission line overhead and underground programs including Inspection and Maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to travel to the across divisions and regions as required

Salary

$82,000- $97,000 a year
