Overview

The Senior Manager, Insights and Analytics supports building the corporate and local analytics infrastructure to implement analytics strategy across the entire company for top supplier partner(s). Provides support to the Executive leadership team (ELT), Supplier Business Development team, and market leadership with analytics and insights. This role consults on key strategic work streams by delivering stories needed through data and insights to help drive the business forward with a different lens.

This role can be located in any BBG-Diageo market.



Responsibilities

    Assist in setting Breakthru's insights strategy through the Analytics Center of Excellence.
    • Establish key milestones to continue Breakthru's analytic advancement.
    • Assist in building processes, capabilities, continuity, and standardization (governance) to ensure Breakthru's analytic competitive advantage.
    • Supports the training and coaching of state analytic resources.
    • Build analytics community from the center through regular communication and stakeholder engagement.
    • Drive a data driven culture to promote data-driven decision-making, consumer-driven analytics, and business-objective led planning across the enterprise. Harvest and optimize the value of BBG's technology and resource investments around analytics.
  • Develop workstreams to identify drivers across industry & consumer trends, BBG growth opportunities, competitive intelligence, and economic indicators.
    • Serve as subject matter expert to the ELT on assigned commodity/ commodities.
    • Provides thoughtful leadership to the BI team to ensure all BI initiatives (including data governance and standardized reporting) are met to help drive analytics and insights across BBG in a centralized manner. Act as the business expert in the analytics cycle.
    • Acts as a subject matter expert in the design and recommendation of appropriate analytical approaches and methodologies in addressing key issues within the business and to the corporate team on commodity and/or channel (spirits, wine/beer/craft, National Accounts, etc.) and support overall ad-hoc ELT / Sales requests.
    • Support Breakthru's evolution into predictive analytics.
  • Deliver supplier and customer-based insights from a mixture of internal data, syndicated data, and other industry relevant info to deliver recommendations and actionable solutions on assigned commodity/ commodities.
    • Primary insights point of contact for the Supplier Business Development team on assigned commodity/ commodities.
    • Effectively communicates to key stakeholders, suppliers, and customer-based insights, recommendations and solutions using internal and syndicated data industry relevant info, along with and other industry relevant info.
    • Understand BBG & Supplier (brand) strategy and put customer analysis and insights around the strategy.
    • Support syndicated data/external data strategy.
    • Participate in supplier meetings to share insights and business opportunities.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience (Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics/Engineering)
  • 10+ years of professional experience in an analytical role within sales/marketing, finance, business strategy, or a related function is required.
  • Experience in extracting actionable business recommendation from large amounts of data and developing a data-driven story in order to sell the concept.
  • Professional experience using syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, etc.) is required. Professional experience using consumer, shopper research or category management is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other analytical system tools/databases (e.g., SAP WEBI/BOBJ, PowerBI, Connected Excel, TABS Analytics, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Demonstrated business acumen, sound business judgment, and the ability to provide relevant, actionable, data-driven advice to management.
  • Strong leadership, project management and communications skills. Ability to influence without direct authority; excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with high level executive partners across a broad organization to drive insight-driven workstreams. Must be able to operate independently and establish consensus across key stakeholders.
  • Position requires schedule flexibility and ability to travel, up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, IRI)
  • Advanced degree in business or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • MBA and/or finance background
  • Professional experience with beverage alcohol, consumer package goods, or business intelligence or consulting services is strongly preferred.
  • Experience driving analytical tasks/projects with a proven track record at an enterprise level

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
