The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Covid-19 Mother Baby Outcomes (COMBO) initiative, in the Nurture Science division, is seeking for a Short-Term Casual (non-student) to operate a research-dedicated MRI scanner. The Short-Term Casual (non-student) will be responsible for operating MRI equipment and creating scans as per the research protocols' directions, screening patients and explaining procedures to them, and inspecting and troubleshooting equipment. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will have computer/technical skills and a demonstrated ability to learn new applications quickly. This position will require continuous interaction with investigators, other staff members and research subjects.

Responsibilities



  • Run console software & hardware for acquiring scan data & operate research-dedicated MRI scanner.
  • Position research subjects in the scanner & maintain safe environment/uphold MRI Safety guidelines.
  • Spot check images and scans for quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with experiment hardware and equipment, including input devices, eye-tracker and physiological collection peripherals.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Graduate or Equivalency required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree major in physical sciences (e.g., physics, engineering) or quantitative sciences (e.g., computer science, applied mathematics) are advantageous but not essential.
  • Prior experience is a plus but not mandatory. We will train the successful candidate to perform all tasks.
  • Must be able to work after work hours and weekends.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule that will consist primarily of weekdays after 4pm and weekends.
