Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for Bluerock's full-cycle accounts payable transactions. This includes and is not limited to the timely and accurate data-entry of invoices into the accounting system, processing of vendor payments, vendor inquiries, and maintaining vendor relations. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.
This is a hands-on position in which the ability to multitask, take initiative, pay meticulous attention to details and work well with others is essential. The successful candidate will be someone who proves to be a strong and multifaceted performer who can meet crucial deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Process a considerable volume of (2-way and 3-way) invoices in Coupa in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve invoice/PO discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Review invoice coding for accuracy and proper approvals.
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs.
  • Research and reconcile vendor statements on a regular basis.
  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support testing for system implementations or system upgrades as needed.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by Senior Accountant and/or above.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Participate in analysis and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Assist with month end close duties as assigned.
  • Understanding of internal controls and processes to mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable preferably in the life science and/or healthcare industry.
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts required, with degree work preferred, General Ledger Accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience with Coupa preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Fast and accurate alpha and numeric data entry required.
  • Proven attention to detail, strong organizational skills, an ability to provide professional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and various levels of management as needed.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
