Sr. Lab Technician

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Novato, CA

Shift: Day Shift 7am-4pm

What we're looking for

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; associates degree or BA/BS Degree in science preferred

Experience:

• 1-2 years equivalent experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of laboratory equipment and/or college degree

• Excellent solid understanding of laboratory operations

• Knowledgeable of biological and/or chemical processes

• Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills

• Knowledge of sterile handling techniques a plus

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Assume responsibility for conducting measurements and carrying out a variety of routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests in accordance with established procedures.

• Utilize pipettes, balances, pH meters, and other laboratory equipment proficiently.

• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, including notebooks, testing records, and worksheets, adhering to prescribed laboratory and manufacturing protocols.

• Adhere closely to standardized procedures during laboratory testing, encompassing routine assays, tasks related to stability studies, and sterility testing.

• Investigate product complaints and assess both new and existing products.

• Aid in the operation of manufacturing equipment and systems within a laboratory setting, including tasks associated with purifying product-related operations.

• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams meticulously to ensure compliance with product specifications.

• Assist in the assembly or sub-assembly of life science products and devices.

• Uphold Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
