Job Details:

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, the Web and Digital Media Coordinator strategizes and executes the planning and content for all social media platforms and general promotions to local, national, and international audiences with brand management front of mind. The candidate should have a working knowledge of digital marketing trends, analytics, and the ability to monitor customer experience and drive audience engagement. Additionally, the role will oversee course adoption research and exam and desk copy requests.

Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well in a collaborative environment, and thrive in a deadline driven position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the UT Press website, ensure accurate data, and keep pace with current web retention and e-commerce best practices. Manage projects with a freelance web developer to ensure security, accessibility, and features are up to date, troubleshoot customer and staff issues, and steadily improve web presence to support marketing, sales, fundraising, and acquisitions goals.
  • Coordinate social media efforts, such as the UT Press Facebook, Instagram, blog, and other platforms. Engage daily with academic, business, and general interest audiences and share content to support the UT Press mission.
  • Compose and schedule email campaigns for both general and scholarly audiences. Coordinate with third parties to achieve sales goals and incorporate direct mail campaigns and special campaigns as needed. Evaluate effectiveness of email efforts.
  • Respond in a timely manner to general inquiries through email. Liaise with authors to achieve promotional goals, including regular blog entries. Assist UT Press management in staff development and workflow. Work with production and acquisitions departments to achieve sales goals. Compile analytics on campaign and website performance and report takeaways to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (directly related professional experience may be considered a substitute for BA)
  • Two to three years of experience appropriate to the duties of the position
  • Understanding of digital analytics and growth management
  • One year experience in book publishing
  • Experience managing details of concurrent projects
  • Experience in compiling information; creating and maintaining database records
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in website data and content management.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using databases to manage and implement projects.
  • Experience in maintaining a website and using online resources, including content management systems.
  • Experience using FileMaker Pro
  • Proficiency in email and e-commerce best practices
Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications
