DAT is looking for a VP, Product Growth to join ourteam. This position can be based is on Beaverton, OR office; Denver, CO office; or fully remote.

Candidate profile

DAT Freight and Analytics is actively seeking a strategic leader to fill the role of VP of Product Growth. This leader will be accountable for developing the segment growth strategy, working with Finance to set the P&L targets, and for converting the strategy into a tangible, executable plan with a cross-functional team (technology, product, marketing, sales, corp development, and finance). The Product growth leader will be responsible for leading the cross-functional segment team to achieve the P&L outcomes and drive sustainable, durable growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate will be a proven product leader with a growth mindset, who will drive curiosity and leverage the collective intelligence of their cross-functional team to drive innovation and achieve their segment goals. Theyr will rapidly become an expert in the Freight domain and DATs growth flywheel to inform the strategic growth plan.

The Product Growth leader will be a direct report of the Chief Product Officer but will ultimately be accountable to the DAT Executive Leadership Team and CEO to deliver the segment P&L growth.

To be successful, the Product Growth leader will require a combination of skills: strategic thinking and plan development, financial acumen and be able to segment the market and define P&L success, be data driven and set KPIs and success metrics, be customer obsessed, have strong executive and team leadership skills to influence and drive change, be hyper competitive, understand market dynamics and competitive forces.

What You'll Do



  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive segment business growth. This involves analyzing market trends, assessing market landscape and competition, identifying gaps / opportunities for expansion or improvement, evaluating organic vs. partnership / M&A opportunities, developing a robust understanding of the market segmentation and SAM/TAM, developing a plan to achieve P&L targets and grow share and/or expand the addressable market, and leading the cross-functional segment team to set clear objectives and plans, to executing on those plans.
  • Financial Management: Manage the segments P&L statement, including revenue generation, cost control, and profitability. This involves creating the P&L and working with their cross-functional segment team to set and monitor budgets, forecasting financial performance, and implement strategies to optimize revenue and minimize expenses.
  • Product Management: Oversee the development and enhancement of the segment's product strategy. Work closely with the Freight Match, iQ, and Enterprise Solutions product leaders and teams to prioritize features, define product roadmaps, and ensure that the product meets the needs of the segment and aligns with the company's strategic goals.
  • Cross-Functional Segment Team Leadership: To develop the Product Growth strategy and drive successful execution to achieve your P&L targets and sustainable growth, you will work lead and align the efforts of a cross-functional segment team (sales, marketing, finance, corp dev, customer success, product, and engineering).


The Skills and Experience You'll Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA is preferred.
  • Over 15 years of progressive experience in product management, with a focus on SaaS products.
  • 5+ years of P&L and cross-functional leadership
  • 5+ years of successfully leading and managing product management teams in an executive capacity (Director+).
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Ability to create in-depth knowledge of market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs in the relevant industry.
  • Experience in Freight, Transportation, or Logistics is a significant plus.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, theminimum salary for this role is $230,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
