HX5 is seeking a AOC Combat Operations Division (COD) Test Subject Matter Expert to join our team at Hurlburt Field in support of the 605th Test and Evaluation Squadron.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Advise and assist by interfacingwith warfighter expertise across the TACS, Intelligence Systems, Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Systems, and other C4ISR Systems as tasked.
  • T&E activities include, but are not limited to:

    • test concept, design, and methodology development; test planning; test instrumentation; test execution and data collection; test data reduction and analysis; assist in the development of test reports and test briefings


  • Support will include assisting in the development and production of draft test plans and reports for Government approval on each system for T&E.
  • Support shall focus on, but not be limited to, test and evaluation of the following:

    • C4ISR architectures, such as Air Operations Center Weapon System (AOC WS) and related interfaced applications, to include systems deployed in a cloud environment; BCS-F open-systems architecture for automating Homeland Defense Air Operations; distributing, and processing ISR information, such as the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS); DoD cryptographic modernization; AFGSC Command Post systems and others that support a multitude of operational missions across the DoD; Air Force Logistics systems that support the readiness and sustainment of Aircraft and Munitions.


  • Support by updating RMT for their respective program.
  • Ensure RMT is updated daily to reflect the most up to date data.
  • Update the PM on actual TDY cost for the squadron DO TDY tracker.
  • Support will include assisting in the development of operational test support requests (OTSR's), developing end of day SITREPs, after action reports (AAR), and lessons learned as required by 605 TES leadership.
  • Support shall include assisting in the development and production of draft test plans and reports for government approval on each C4ISR system for T&E, as required.
  • To facilitate T&E support, shall be required to attend system-specific training and seminars and to maintain qualifications similar to government acquisition and T&E certification levels.
  • Provide acquisition and process support by reviewing any 605 TES acquisition support activities and products.
  • Support shall include assisting in the development and updates of the following:

    • ITT charters, ICD; CDD; CPD; ORD; AoA; PMD; TES; TEMP; CONEMP and CONOPS and operational manuals and handbooks.


  • Advise and assist by participating in working groups, technical reviews, and other mission-related activities.
  • Provide documentation support in developing AOC WS configuration management policies, plans, procedures and evaluations for C4ISR systems.
  • Support shall include preparing and assisting in presenting technical status briefings documenting problem areas, test progress, and accomplishments affecting defined task areas.
  • In addition, the contractor shall advise and assist in the development of plans to overcome any test shortfalls that may be encountered in the course of test planning.
  • This may include developing software to collect, reduce, and analyze data; documenting the requirement for systems needed to perform tests; and installing and integrating these systems.


Experience and Other Requirements:



  • Must have 6 years experience in Combat Operations Division (COD).
  • Three (3) years of experience as an operational tester desired.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:



  • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.


Other Position Requirements:



  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to date of hire.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a US Top Secret/SCI SSBI within eight (8) months of hire.
