Provide office support services within a campus unit to include organizing and preparing correspondence, reports and other documentation; scheduling meetings and events; file maintenance, and related administrative activities; and assisting customers with their service needs. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will serve CEISMCs Summer P.E.A.K.S (Programs for Enrichment and Accelerated Knowledge in STEAM), an in-person program on the campus of Georgia Tech and for the STEAM Whistle Workshop, a virtual STEAM program. Summer P.E.A.K.S. and STEAM Whistle Workshop run through June and July 2024. Applicants must have prior experience working or volunteering with K-12-aged students. Applicants should have leadership experience, experience in providing quality customer service, and the ability to speak professionally with students, parents and instructors. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Responsibilities
The CEISMC Group Leader's role will include, but not limited to: 1) checking students in and out with parents when they arrive/leave campus or taking attendance online, 2) supervising groups of students throughout daily activities, 3) monitoring them during lunch 4) taking students to various locations on campus for tours and lectures 5) assisting instructors during parent presentations every Friday, 6) fulfilling tasks associated with the day-to-day in-office operations of summer camps, 7) completing a summer-long deliverable at the end of employment. SUMMER PROJECT: This summer's Group Leader project will include the creation of a deliverable that can be used to market the Summer P.E.A.K.S. program to students and families. The CEISMC Group Leaders are a valued member of a small team running Summer P.E.A.K.S and STEAM Whistle Workshop. The Group Leaders report directly to Expanded Learning Programs' Educational Outreach Manager I. The Group Leaders must welcome positive direction and suggestions, possess a strong work ethic, maintain safety for students, and be customer service-oriented. The intern is the direct contact for parents on a daily basis and represents CEISMC. Activities and decisions are varied in nature, which to some degree requires independent action and judgement in solving common problems. Some physical activities are involved such as walking long distances and lifting heavy boxes for in-person programming. USG Core Values
