Ensure effective deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the Westinghouse Manufacturing System across the organization. Drives continuous improvement through the organization by effectively deploying Operations Excellence resources. Ensure effective use of lean and six sigma methodologies to achieve desired business results.

Your day to day:



  • Working collaboratively with organizational leaders, identifies, quantifies, prioritizes, and delivers organizational improvement strategies to deliver business requirements and position the organization for long term success and operational excellence
  • Lead the deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the Westinghouse Manufacturing System for the site.
  • Establishes and sets governances and oversite processes to measure systems performance, identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the development of and implementation of system mitigation, correction action, and continuous improvement strategies
  • Develops and manages a portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives designed to achieve organizational improvement strategies
  • Ensures the planning and execution continuous improvement projects that increase organizational efficiency, provide favorable cost impact, and improve organizational flexibility using a lean and six sigma approach.
  • Effectively deploy Operational Excellence and cross-functional resources to achieve organizational improvement strategies
  • Ensures site Operational Excellence project activities achieve milestones, efficiency gains, and desired cost savings
  • Effectively employs value stream mapping tools and lean techniques to identify continuous improvement opportunities and future state plans
  • Ensures positive engagement and leveraging of the entire workforce through collaboration and participation in operational excellence events and programs.
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve an employee engagement strategy to ensure employee buy in to operational excellence initiatives.


What you need to be successful in this role:



  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) requires - STEM degree preferred
  • Master Degree (MBA) or Operations Management - preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in working in an operational excellence role
  • Minimum six (6) years' experience in manufacturing
  • Preferred five (5) years' experience in management of people
  • Preferred twelve (12) years' experience in manufacturing
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Compliance - Has experience and ability to achieve compliance goals, through a risk-based approach; Has a deep understanding of modern manufacturing/lean techniques
  • Strategic Thinking - Can identify opportunities that add value to the work and proactively mitigate risk across the value chain working across boundaries
  • Collaboration/Influence - Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills to effectively work across the organization. Must possess the ability to influence without authority and demonstrate the ability to effectively operate in an ambiguous/changing environment.
  • Business Outcomes /Drive Results - Ability to use deep knowledge and expertise in production operations to drive results and business outcomes
  • High Performing Teams - Demonstrated ability to build, foster and lead high performing teams to achieve goals and exceed expectations
