We're hiring for aMeasurement Specialistwho will be a critical part of theTerminal team reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for providing oversight, training and guidance for all terminal measurements. You will work with Terminal Operations, Measurement, and Accounting to develop and implement measurement programs as needed to meet business needs. This position will work with technical personnel and others to leverage measurement expertise throughout Global's terminals.

"Gauges" of Responsibility

  • Position is a gatekeeper of all terminal measurement policies, procedures and terminal reporting.
  • Act as a measurement resource for all internal auditors; provide training and audit clarification and month terminal gain loss review of all Global South Terminals (from Maryland to Texas)
  • Work with internal and external measurement (Loss Control, Operational Excellence, connecting pipelines, etc.) and participate w/ external work groups as appropriate (API, etc.).
  • Work with Terminal Operations to oversee calibration contractors & vendors for use by Global terminals.
  • Provide oversight to third party pipeline companies to assure proper controls.
  • Provide oversite on marine movements at the Global South Terminals.
  • Provide review and comments on month gain loss reporting at all Global South Terminals.
  • Provide recommendations and approve terminal measurement equipment (meters, devices, etc.).
  • Train Terminal and other Global personnel on measurement as it relates to their work.
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly stock variations and resolve issues with terminals, stock accounting, equipment manufacturers, pipeline companies, marine terminals, state agencies and other parties as necessary.
  • Perform assessments to assure terminals are following policy and procedures and in accordance with industry guidelines and best practices.
  • Must keep Terminal Measurement Manual and Terminal Operations Manual current with internal practices and regulations
  • Requires cross training and coordination with the Product Quality Team, Operational Team and Business Analysts as needed to complete assessments and other work assignments.
  • Support measurement & some PQ related Management of Change (MOC).
  • Provide support for measurement & PQ incident investigations and socialize learnings.
  • Provide 24/7 on call support.
  • This roll would support the operation of 25 Terminals in the southern portion of the eastern United States from Maryland to Texas. Oversight and travel to all locations will be required as a vital part of measurement support. As such, travel is expected to be frequent and may be on short notice. Approximately 50% travel.
  • Other responsibilities may be added as needs develop.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and around all terminal facilities including in and on storage tanks and equipment is necessary.
  • Limited staff requires independent work and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to train effectively, work collaboratively with others to achieve compliance with standards.
  • Ability to set high goals and achieve them with limited direction and oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Exercises effective documentation practices.
  • Must have a safety mindset and champion safe work practices.
  • This position is field based and requires up to 50% travel.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Minimum of three years Terminal Operations experience.
  • Basic understanding of stock accounting using TMS (Terminal Management System).
  • Strong understanding of Terminal measurement procedures and requirements.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Education Requirement

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
