Vice President of Project Services

The Vice President of Project Services is operationally responsible for the Foss Maritime Project Services business and associated profit and loss (P&L) statement. Foss Projects is a leading provider of project and maritime transport solutions. In addition, this role will also provide project management expertise to other parts of the organization, as required.
The Foss Project Services organization consists of Project Managers, Operational and Technical leaders and specialist, commercial staff as well as mariners. The dedicated Foss Projects organization is supported by the wider Foss Maritime and Saltchuk Marine Towage organization.
Essential Functions:
* Develop and implement a holistic strategy for Foss Project Services.
* Develop and implement "best in class" comprehensive project management processes, governance and execution aligned with the strategy.
* P&L responsibility for Foss Project Services (a business line within Foss Maritime).
* Provide guidance and direction to project management teams to ensure successful project delivery.
* Business development including assessing and decide on which proposals have the highest potential value, impact and strategic alignment.
* Identify cross project and cross organizational dependencies and make portfolio adjustments as necessary.
* Build and lead a high-performing project management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Lead the project management team, ensuring successful project delivery that contributes to the company's growth and success.
* Lead the entire project management process, monitoring projects, programs and portfolio to ensure compliance with project policies and standards as well as keeping to schedules, budgets and quality expectations.
* Conduct regular project reviews and audits to assess performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
* Serve as a key point of contact for executive leadership, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks.
* Ensure that all projects adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
* Allocate resources effectively to support project priorities and ensure optimal utilization of talent and expertise.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the project management function, promoting innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness.
* Identify opportunities to streamline processes, leverage technology, and implement best practices to enhance project outcomes.
* Performs special duties and other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of successful leadership in managing complex capital projects, preferably within the maritime industry.
* 5+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing project management teams, preferably in marine operations.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Expert knowledge of project and change management methodologies, techniques and processes
* Able to manage budget, cost and profitability
* Resource management skills and knowledge of tools
* High-level communication, interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with project managers, teams, vendor and other stakeholders
* Experience monitoring and evaluating projects, programs and portfolios
* Teach and mentor small and large groups
* Flexible, adaptable and resourceful
Compensation:
Pay for this position will be between $216,811 and $271,013 annually.
Incentive Compensation Plan:
This position may eligible for an Incentive Compensation Plan bonus of up to 40% of base pay, subject to Company and individual performance and per company policy. Individuals hired/transferred during the year will be eligible to receive a pro rata share after six (6) months of service in the event that a bonus is paid out.
