Hybrid Opportunity

ENSCO's Mission Systems Group (MSG) is seeking an Engineering Intern, with an emphasis in Aerospace. You will join our team of talented engineers and scientists in the design and development of specialized systems for a variety of highly valued customers.

The Engineering Intern will support the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) and enable digital and enterprise transformation supporting Space Force. In this role you will provide Engineering and Integration support, engineering analysis, and support the launch ranges modernization to Spaceport operations. You will support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, work closely with the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) cross-functional teams to improve the acquisition processes and the modernization of the Launch Ranges to support a substantial increase in commercial, civilian, and DoD launch services. This position is located at Colorado Springs, CO.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

* Develop strategies and concepts to solve challenging problems; Implement prototypes
* Complete structural, thermal, and additional engineering analyses
* Create, revise, and manage STK technical data packages for full products and prototypes
* Assist management and engineers with testing and review of conceptual designs and proof-of-concept models

Qualifications Required (Skills)

* Rising junior or senior pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably with an Aerospace focus.
* Solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles
* Understanding of component and system design, modeling, and testing.
* Understanding of parametric solid modeling programs, e.g. SolidWorks or equivalent.
* Engineering design process experience
* Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing, entering, and tracking information.
* Ability to work under general supervision and technical guidance.
* Strong work ethic, independent thinker and self-starter; decision making ability.
* Strong technical verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
* Time management and organizational skills.
* ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN

Qualifications Desired

* Pursuit of advanced degree in Engineering
* Hands-on experience with design, testing, and operation of precision sensors
* Experience with ANSYS analysis modules: Static Structural, Steady-State Thermal, Modal, and Response Spectrum
* Experience in development with SolidWorks, Python, GitHub, Microsoft Office, MATLAB, Mathcad
* Design experience with non-ferrous metals and plastics
* Additive manufacturing and prototyping experience
* Experience managing product structures and assembly configurations in a PDM tool.
* Active Secret Clearance
