Inova Mt. Vernon rehab is a unique Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Program seeking a full time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week Occupational Therapist to provide care to a diverse adult population. Stroke and brain injury experience preferred. Our facility maintains a smaller community hospital feel, while operating within the leading healthcare system in Northern Virginia.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:


  • Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
  • Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
  • Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
  • Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
  • Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines - adjusting the treatment plan as needed.

Occupational Therapist Additional Requirements:

Education:



  • Bachelors of Science, Occupational Therapy. Master's Degree Preferred


Certification:



  • BLS certified through the American Heart Association.


Licensure:



  • Virginia License required upon start
