Midsized Enterprise Business Development Manager Job Description

Business development managers:

  • Are strategic partners to C-level and senior executives and focus purely on establishing new business relationships with nonclient organizations within an assigned prospecting territory
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
  • Are responsible for strategically selling Gartner's advisory services to midmarket organizations or emerging technology organizations
  • Have excellent executive presence and the ability lead and close a complex sales process using Gartner's value selling proposition

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • At least two years of experience identifying and closing new sales opportunities in a B2B environment.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills
  • Stellar track record of closing new business at or above quota (prove it, we love to see quantifiable achievements)
  • The ability to adopt best practices and embrace feedback
  • Solid understanding of business dynamics at large national and international corporations
  • A hunter's mentality

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 60,000 USD - 85,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
