PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This position is accountable for assisting the Global Packaging Graphics Leader and Packaging Graphics Team in supporting packaging (physical and digital) for all Owens Corning businesses with a primary focus on the Insulation segment. Responsible for creating visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, captivate and convert a variety of targets and the development of world-class packaging that supports the overall marketing strategy. Owns implementation and execution of consistent customer messaging that aligns brand across all packaging structures, materials, and printed product. Accountable to prioritize team investments that directly have the most positive impact to sales and marketing goals across the business-- driving profitable growth while accelerating OC's brand awareness through strong/proactive packaging graphics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands Owens Corning Product Packaging, Solutions, and Customers



  • Owns and develops packaging graphics that are consistent with business strategy and key initiatives, support and develop brand equity, and build awareness that drives demand generation
  • Build strong voice of the customer knowledge and understand customer needs, as well as how these needs are addressed using the appropriate marketing tools. Sustain a strong working relationship with the marketing communications, sales organization, and business partners to gather additional input on customer needs.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Owens Corning products, packaging, processes, and solutions. This includes product details, artwork requirements, and print capabilities. Ability to communicate this information flawlessly to sales, clients, and product managers.
  • Posses a full comprehention of packaging components (physical and digital) across all Insulation product lines to assure elements line up consistently to one Owens Corning global enterprise and necessary elements are in scope
  • Knowledge of global legislative, regulatory, health & safety compliance issues, and translations that must be kept current on packaging materials



Packaging Project Organization and Execution



  • Responsible for assigning tasks to the appropriate team members to ensure projects are completed with the highest quality standards and meet critical deadlines.
  • Maintain strong collaboration and communication with various Owens Corning departments such as S&T Engineering, Technical, Marketing, Product Management, Sustainability, Trademark and Legal, Sales, Operations, and Sourcing. Organize regular meetings to discuss project details and business needs with key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with business partners to assure artwork and collateral are provided in the most accurate and efficient manner to outside vendors in order to streamline production of Insulation packaging.
  • Owns management of digital packaging asset requests and creation to support online sales.
  • Organize and upkeep filing systems.
  • Must possess a sense of design, style, color balance and their relationship to effectively communicate techniques and strategies in order to provide creative direction to external packaging design agency.
  • Owns trafficking of packaging graphics projects, manages timing and action calendars, and integrates newly acquired categories into execution process and facilitates artwork through internal documentation and routing processes.
  • Manages initial discussions and follow through for new projects, organic growth and possible acquisitions.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, or related field; and significant work experience in area
  • 5-7 years previous experience in packaging design, print, structural development or related areas; building materials experience preferred but not required
  • Digital Marketing experience is required
  • Well-versed in production technology, pre-press knowledge of print, substrates, plant manufacturing techniques and various plant packaging equipment
  • Light travel to OC facilities and/or suppliers for knowledge building or to attend press side trials (10-15% travel)




EXPERIENCE:



  • Successful experience working in a complex matrix environment
  • Experience with brand and marketing alignment within a large company
  • Knowledge of print and packaging suppliers and capabilities. Experience managing external suppliers
  • Budget management experience
