Under general supervision performs professional duties in the application of Ultrasonography services. Demonstrates proficiency in performing all Ultrasound related exams and other related patient care services.

Responsibilities

Job Performance

  • Demonstrates competency in preparing patients for procedures
  • Correctly performs all prescribed Ultrasound procedures in an efficient manner
  • Works independently and critiques exams
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Competent in the storage and transferring of images
  • Responsible for regular rotation of on-call responsibilities This includes the use of their own cell phone device to complete essential work functions and enhance job performance.

Patient Care

  • Communication - written & verbal
  • Prepares patient for procedures
  • Provides education to patient and ensures consents are signed as needed for invasive procedures.
  • Obtains and records adequate patient history
  • Interprets physician's orders correctly
  • Correctly orders, tracks and charges exams in a timely fashion
  • Adaptability
  • Demonstrates competence in the administration of age appropriate care.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of JRCERT approved school for Radiologic Technology with extensive training and experience in Ultrasound to prove competent or a graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography.

License/Certifications:

RDMS or ARRT certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must sit for RDMS or ARRT within 24 months of successfully passing Physics, Abdomen and OB/GYN
