THE ORGANIZATION

Feeding Westchester is looking for people with the passion, courage, and creativity to create meaningful change in the lives of others. As a member of the Feeding America network of food banks and Westchester County's leading hunger relief organization, we moved nearly 22 million pounds of food to agencies and partners across Westchester County, including food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, and schools last fiscal year. We supplied 17 million meals to children, families, and seniors, mobilized 11,000 volunteers, and raised over $17 million in donations and government support to help end hunger.

Feeding Westchester's mission is to nourish our neighbors in the fight against hunger. As the heart of a network of more than 200 partners, we source and distribute food, and other resources, to communities across Westchester. THE OPPORTUNITY

Feeding Westchester has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and mission driven Manager, Partner Engagement. Working within the Community Engagement and Impact department, reporting to the Director, Engagement, the Manager, Partner Engagement plays an impactful role in collaborating to advance Feeding Westchester's efforts to build awareness about our mission, services, needs and successes, as well as to position the organization in leading hunger-relief in Westchester County. The Manager, Partner Engagement responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with partner agencies to maximize their impact in addressing food insecurity within Westchester County. This role is critical in ensuring that these partnerships are effective, sustainable, and aligned with Feeding Westchester's strategic goals. Provide ongoing support and maintenance of relationships with participating member agencies. Responsible for the recruitment, evaluation, enrollment and orientation of new member agencies and maintenance of the network. Oversee program to increase network capacity and distribution. Must have strong analytical and organizational skills, able to communicate and have proven experience working effectively with people of widely diverse backgrounds.

Community Engagement and Impact TEAM PRIORITIES

Mission Alignment: Ensuring that all programs and services provided align with Feeding Westchester's mission and overarching goals. This involves regularly reviewing and assessing programs to ensure they remain relevant and impactful.

Understanding the Community: Developing a thorough understanding of community-based initiatives, programs offered by Feeding Westchester, and how they directly influence both our partner agencies and the communities we serve. Ensuring we have a deep understanding of food insecurity and the landscape we are working with in to better support our communities.

Program Development and Implementation: Developing new programs or refining existing ones to address the needs of the community or targeted partners. This includes designing programs, establishing goals and objectives, creating budgets and implementing strategies for successful execution.

Impact Assessment and Evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of programs to measure outcomes and ensure accountability to funders, donors, and key stakeholders. This involves collecting data, analyzing results, and using findings to make informed decisions about program improvements or adjustments.

Customer Service focused and Team Collaboration: Prioritizing collaboration and customer service helps Feeding Westchester build stronger relationships, increase effectiveness, and achieve greater impact in advancing our mission and serving our partners and neighbors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Policies, Programs and Procedures

  • Develop and maintain membership manual and orientation process.
  • Recommend new or revised policies, programs, and procedures, which will significantly better established practices.
  • Develop programs and procedures relating to agency relations and capacity building.
  • Manage Agency Segmentation and Capacity building best practices.
  • Evaluate and maintain Hunger mapping to determine need, saturation of existing locations and recommends best approach to fill meal gap.
  • Maintain an efficient agency relations department complete with operating and training manuals, updated policies and procedures, and professional presentation of internal and external communication materials
  • Maintain a consistent agency monitoring schedule which as of this writing is once every two years on the anniversary date. Ensure that each member agency is compliant with all of Feeding Westchester's state and local regulations.
  • Develop and execute workshops and other training forums to meet the common weaknesses or opportunities for growth as identified in agency surveys, on-site inspection reports and other assessments.
  • Maintain an active agency advisory committee to include recruitment and work plan development.

Member Monitoring

  • Coordinate agency monitoring program: develop and direct overall plan for agency inspections and periodic reviews; make recommendations to the Director, Engagement based on findings.
  • Responsible for visiting network agencies on a regular basis to ensure proper food safety and to provide technical assistance.
  • Work with Accounting team and the VP to assure agency financial obligations are met.

Network Representative Meetings

  • Develop the Annual Hunger Summit and manages overall logistics of event.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the community gatherings to enhance agency capacity.
  • Attend community and hunger related organization meetings on behalf of Feeding Westchester.
  • Oversee member agencies grant application process - ensures compliance.
  • Suggest grant allocations per agency and monitors account usage/activity.
  • Responsible for developing new partner distribution efforts leading to filling the meal gap such as piloting new programs.

Special Programs/Grant Management

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in partnership management, community engagement, or a related field, preferably within a nonprofit or social services environment.

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engagement strategies and programs.
  • Experience in training and capacity building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven success in building effective working partnerships.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving to identify solutions, meet, and enhance organizational mission.
  • Must have valid driver's license and use of a vehicle to ensure ability to travel independently for Feeding Westchester business.

SALARY RANGE: $68,000.00-72,000.00 (based on experience)
