2 years Application Window Open date: May 10, 2024 Most recent review date: Monday, Jun 17, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description A full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position is currently open in Dr. Xiaoyi Lu's PADSYS Lab, focusing on the exploration of high-performance and scalable systems for emerging scientific applications, real-time Big Data processing, machine/deep/federated learning, among other areas. The Postdoctoral Scholar will be tasked with conducting innovative research, delving into advanced storage devices like NVMe-SSD and Persistent/CXL Memory, as well as parallel and distributed computing. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Scholar will collaborate closely with the PI to produce research articles aimed at disseminating the findings obtained from PADSYS Lab's research. This will include working with the PI's team to perform the planned research tasks, collect, and analyze the results, and present papers if accepted in some top computer science conferences. Moreover, the role entails actively mentoring graduate and undergraduate students within the lab. Qualifications Basic qualifications
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Additional qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following: persistent/CXL memory, static analysis (LLVM), virtual machine (QEMU), file systems (EXT4, XFS), parallel file systems (BeeGFS, Lustre), and so on. The successful candidate should have at least 1-2 peer-reviewed research papers in major storage conferences (e.g., FAST, SYSTOR). Preferred qualifications
Applicants are preferred to have a strong background in storage systems. Additional publications in other areas will be a plus.
