Huntsman's Advanced Materials Division is now searching for a new Packager for our chemical manufacturing site located in Los Angeles, California.

Job Scope

The packager, you typically assemble the right materials and ensure the safety of packages during transit. Your main duties are to pack and inspect items, label them correctly, and perform any supporting operations for packaging.

As the Packager you will:

  • Process and Package customer orders.

  • Read specifications, instructions, work/process orders and other technical packaging data in order to complete daily tasks and determine quantities and types of products to be packaged.

  • Maintain and document packaging records including packaging data, such as weight and amount of product processed, type of product, and time of processing.

  • Safely and efficiently operate machinery and equipment as required

  • Check and close final steps for customer orders.

  • Follow PPI Instructions, DOT, IMDG and IATA forms.

  • Print SDS from Database.

  • Keep housekeeping at the level expected: work area free of clutter, items and materials stored in designated area, etc.

  • Follow all EHS policies and procedures.

  • Able to work in Workday for all IMS procedures.

  • Understand and follow policies and procedures.

  • Complete additional tasks as required or assigned

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent such as GED required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using systems and equipment appropriate for the position specialization.
  • Very good communication skills as position that interfaces with various departments and contractors.
  • Dealing with ambiguity and priority setting.
  • Proven understanding of day to day business activities, reporting and operations.
  • Computer literacy.

Starting rate for Packaging position is $28.61/hr.

  • Step progression available based on qualification - minimum of 12 months prior to associate qualifying.
