Description
The Upholstery Associate is charged with making, repairing or replacing upholstery for Aurora Holding products. The Upholstery Associate will also receive customer orders, work on customer repairs, as well as create inventory for the annual Barn Sale. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Ability to cut fabrics consisting of all materials, make swatches, as well as sew patterns
- Upholster tuffets, setting seats, benches and dining chairs
- Make pillows and cushions, as well as add trims to furniture
- Ability to lift bolts of fabric and move furniture as needed
- Basic maintenance of sewing machine and department equipment
- Ability to use power tools on a consistent basis
- Conduct Inventory Analysis of Department
- Create inventory for Barn Sale
- Receive customer orders as well as work on customer repairs
- Answer phone calls in a timely fashion
- Cross-train in other departments
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any supervisory duties.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three years of upholstery experience is desired
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work shift work and overtime on a regular basis.

- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

- Requires organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- The employee must understand the proper way to deal with external expectations.

- Computer, printer, photocopier, pallet jack, forklift, and various hand and power tools
- Computer Software: Microsoft Outlook,

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.
- Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
- Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed in a typical office environment where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
